I am a soil and plant ecologist interested in researching how soil communities and plant communities interact, especially how soil communities may facilitate plant diversity. My current research investigates questions at the intersection of soil ecology and urban ecology.
I work primarily in Pennsylvania, on land formerly cared for by the Lenni-Lenape people of Lenapehoking and the Poutaxat (Delaware Bay). Pennsylvania is the only state in the Lenapehokink that has not recognized its indigenous peoples (lenape-nation.org). Consider visiting the Lenape of Pennsylvania website to support their efforts, and educating yourself about the history of forcible displacement of native populations as the United States of America formed.
